We have practitioners who have taken multiple PRI courses and utilizing our extensive manual therapy and exercise knowledge. Our innovative method of mixing PRI with other treatments could be the solution to end your frustrating battle with persistent pain, whether from sports injuries, sciatica, back/neck issues, or other chronic conditions. Not only does PRI enhance body control and alignment, but this neurological and biomechanics form of treatment could help reduce future injuries. If you’re ready to stop “dealing with” pain and transform your quality of life, discover how PRI therapy finally provides the answers and results you’ve waited for.
A Customized Approach to Relieve Lingering Pain
PRI therapy represents an advanced and rapidly growing treatment philosophy that pinpoints how lifelong posture and movement habits contribute to pain and discomfort. By evaluating your precise anatomical and neuromuscular patterns through specialized assessments, your PRI-trained therapist can detect improper pelvic positioning, muscle asymmetry contributing to your nagging aches, tightness, and mobility issues.
These evaluations allow us to design a personalized treatment program utilizing gentle joint and soft tissue mobilization, specific corrective exercises tailored to your one-of-a-kind needs. We focus intensely on identifying and addressing the root biomechanical causes perpetuating dysfunction to achieve progressive, lasting relief month after month.
PRI therapy moves beyond temporary fixes by teaching your body to self-correct movement habits and learn new motor patterns and movement behaviors. Our goal is to resolve the primary postural habits to eliminate painful flare-ups and allow more freedom of movement in multiple planes of motion.
Who Can PRI Therapy Help?
If you identify with any of the following, PRI therapy may provide the long-awaited solution:
- Lingering discomfort and tightness from old injuries prevent daily activity
- Chronic back, hip, knee, shoulder, or neck pain flares up periodically
- You experience joint “catching”, “locking up”, or uncoordinated movement
- You feel muscle imbalance, poor core control, and fatigue easily
- You wish to improve your athletic ability but pain inhibits your progress
- Pain or weakness frequently causes you to overcompensate in movement
Both men and women living in the Ann Arbor area who struggle with any of the above issues tend to find tremendous relief and restored well-being through PRI therapy at On Track Physiotherapy.
Key Benefits of PRI Therapy
We have seen life-changing results from PRI therapy firsthand. Our patients often describe improved function and mobility within just a few weeks, as well as:
Improved Pain and Function: By addressing underlying postural habits that contribute to pain, PRI therapy can help alleviate pain and improve overall function in daily activities.
Enhanced Movement Patterns: PRI therapy focuses on restoring optimal movement patterns, which can lead to improved coordination, balance, and performance in various physical activities.
Reduced Risk of Future Injuries: By addressing posture and your body’s neurology, PRI therapy may help reduce the risk of future injuries by improving movement mechanics and overall body awareness.
Improved Awareness of Body Mechanics: PRI therapy often incorporates patient education, which can empower individuals to better understand their body mechanics and take an active role in managing their condition.
Frequently Asked Questions
We encourage you to discuss any questions or concerns with your PRI therapist, but here are a few common queries regarding PRI therapy:
Does PRI Therapy Actually Work?
Yes! Published studies and our own clinical outcomes validate PRI as an effective method to address movement patterns but we don’t use PRI as a stand alone treatment either. We combine it with manual therapies and fitness exercise plans to maximize the benefits! PRI therapy has an excellent track record of helping athletes and everyday people resolve chronic issues when other treatments have failed.
What is PRI Therapy Exactly?
It is a systems-based assessment and intervention model based on detecting muscle pattern asymmetries/imbalances related to common postural habits. These imbalances are addressed through manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education exercises, and patient education.
What is a PRI Therapist or “PRI Practitioner”?
PRI offers certifications to clinicians. We have purposely chosen NOT to pursue our PRI certification because we feel that it limits how we practice most effectively. As mentioned in the above article we combine PRI theory with real fitness/exercise and manual therapy. Unfortunately there is a lot of dogma around how you should/should not practice in the physical therapy profession. With PRI there is a lot of red tape! All treatment methods have positives and downfalls in their approach. As a result we are a PRI informed practice and have taken multiple courses taught by PRI. But we utilize it only as much as we feel appropriate for the patient.
Your recovery matters to us immensely. Our capable PRI informed clinicians and experts in rehabilitation and fitness have dedicated their practice to accurately pinpointing the source of dysfunction and empowering you to achieve your goals pain-free.
We are honored you entrust us with your care and thank you for considering On Track Physiotherapy as your partner toward renewed mobility and an active lifestyle. Please call, email, or schedule online at your earliest convenience to discuss how we can help you thrive once more.
